Medical Review Officer (MRO) Self-Assessment
Updated for 3rd Edition of MROCC’s Manual!
The American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM) has updated its popular and practical activity used by medical review officers (MROs) to exercise and maintain their knowledge base, comply with the Department of Transportation (DOT) requirement of 12 hours of MRO-related continuing medical education (CME) every three years, and meet MROCC’s recertification CME requirements.
The updated ACOEM CME program consists of a 45-question self-assessment based on MROCC’s The Medical Review Officer’s Manual, 3rd Edition.
Under DOT, MROs who completed their initial training and exam prior to August 1, 2001, must have completed 12 hours of CME before August 1, 2004 [49 CFR §40.121(d)]. MROs who completed their training and exam after August 1, 2001, have three years from the date of completion before their CME is due. MROCC also requires 12 hours of CME within the past three years for MROs who wish to recertify.
The MRO Self-Assessment is $295 for ACOEM members and $345 for non-members. For further information, call ACOEM’s Department of Education at 847/818-1800.
