  • CDME Review Newsletter – CME Program

    CDME Review is a quarterly newsletter for health care professionals who perform medical examinations for commercial motor vehicle drivers published by the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM). CDME Review is written and edited by Natalie Hartenbaum, MD, MPH, Chief Medical Officer of OccuMedix in Maple Glen, Pa., who is a nationally recognized expert in the field of transportation medicine. Dr. Hartenbaum is also Editor of The DOT Medical Examination: A Guide to Commercial Driver’s Medical Certification, and course director for ACOEM’s Commercial Driver Medical Examiner Course. In addition, Dr. Hartenbaum has presented government testimony on this topic. Dr. Hartenbaum has disclosed that her spouse is employed by Merck.

     

    Instructions: 

    1. Read the newsletter (mailed to subscribers). Subscribers receive their newsletter via the U.S. mail. Specific articles in each issue are chosen to be part of the CME examination. These articles are indicated with a CME Article designation along with the title. 
    2. Log in to the test. After reading the articles, subscribers who wish to earn CME must log in by clicking on the CDME CME Login button. (Note: CME tests related to this newsletter are only available on line through ACOEM’s web site.) You will then be taken to another screen where you will be asked to enter your e-mail address and password.
    3. Complete the test and evaluation. Once logged in, you will be able to access the CME test. Complete the brief 3-5 question CME activity along with the 6-question Examination Evaluation, check your answers against the answer key, and click on the “SUBMIT” button. For ABPM Maintenance of Certification (MOC) credit, check the appropriate box before hitting the "submit" button.
