    What is Point-of-Care Learning (POCL)?
Point-of-Care Learning is a new CME initiative that rewards the use of on-line, evidence-based resources to guide patient care.  Physicians can earn 0.5 AMA Credit each time they research a patient related issue – up to 20 Credits per year.

What are the requirements to get POCL Credit?
The basic requirements for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ are:

    1. A clinical question must be recorded
    2. An on-line evidence-based resource must be reviewed
    3. The intervention on patient care must be documented
    4. The process must be reviewed and accredited by an approved CME Sponsor

ACOEM’s Practice Guidelines and the Journal of Occupational Medicine are featured resources in the Point-of-Care learning system!

ACOEM has partnered with eeds™ to bring you Point-of-Care Learning!

How does eeds™ help me get POCL Credit?
eeds makes it easy by breaking down the process into easy-to-follow steps.

    1. Log in to the ACOEM Member's Only section and select Point of Care Learning.
    2. Choose your preferred credit type and CME Sponsor.
    3. Let eeds guide you through a few simple questions, and you’re finished!  The whole documentation process takes less than a minute.

How do I get my credit certificate for POCL?
Once you finish logging a POCL activity, CME credit is instantly deposited into your eeds account.  To view your credit report, click on the “CME Reports” tab and then “Sponsor Reported Credit.” You may then print/email a CME transcript whenever needed from any computer with Internet access.

How much does Point-of-Care Credit cost?
POCL Credit is available for free to anyone with an individual eeds subscription ($35*). Those who already have access to eeds, through a hospital medical staff membership, may upgrade to an individual eeds subscription for $21. You can earn twenty AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ per year for simply documenting the patient care research that you’re already doing.
